After a busy night in Waldorf on the truck, the engine went out the door at 8:17 am for the commercial building fire in Hughesville at 7732 Leonardtown Rd, Randy’s Ribs. Engine 23 arrived on scene with smoke showing from the roof of the structure. Engine 12 arrived with 4 men, picking up 23′s line and completing the water supply to the first due company. Engine 12 pulled a back up line and assumed 2nd due responsibilities assisting Engine 23 wih extinguishment.
It was determined to be a grease fire in the kitchen with minor extension to the structure. The assignment was quickly scaled back to units operating on the scene and shortly after, Engine 12 returned to service.
